First Chanel Haul and Look

Today I ventured up to the mall in quest of Chanel Mat Lumiere Foundation and came out with a couple of other things. The MUA not only color matched me but applied it to my entire face and also an applied an eyeshadow and liner I was looking at. She was extremely nice and helpful and I was glad because I was already afraid that I was going to go to the Chanel Counter and they were going to be snobby, being the high(est) end makeup I have ever purchased. This is me wearing the Mat Lumiere in Beige 40 and Eyeshadow duo in Misty. She put one of the new eyeliners on me but I'm not sure which one and a glossimer, again not sure which one.

New Goodies!!!

Finally, after months, I've done some hauling! The husband was not very happy, but oh wells. Here is what I got and some pictures
MAC Young Punk Mineralize Eye Shadow. Mineralize black w/ pinkish purple pearl (frost). When I went to check out the Style Black collection, this was the one eye shadow that really caught my eye. It is just a gorgeous dark purple color. I used it today and it does have a fair amount of fall out, but applied wet you can get around this.
MAC Style Snob Eye Shadow. Dirty pink brown w/ gold pearl (starflash). I really love this color. It is a beautiful neutral color. It's similar to Satin Taupe but with a pinkish undertone. I know I will get a lot of wear out of this one.

MAC Creme De Miel Eye Shadow. Frosty light yellow gold (veluxe pearl). This eye shadow is so pretty and I can't believe I passed it up when the Naked Honey Collection came out. I think it will be a nice highlight color.
NARS Cairo Eye Shadow. Champagne rose with shimmer. Another beautiful neutral shade. The texture feels really nice. Some gorgeous looks will come with this!
NARS Caravaggio Eye Shadow Duo. Azalea Pink/Irridescent Violet. This is a beautiful bright duo featuring my two favorite colors!
NARS Silk Road Eye Shadow Duo. Icy Pink/Rose gold with golden flecks. I'm on a neutral kick in case you don't notice, lol. This is beautiful as well.

NARS Madly Blush. Seashell pink. This is a very gorgeous, pigmented neutral blush. I think it will be very versatile.

NARS Makeup Cleansing Oil. This was where the NARS order started. When I was colormatched for the Sheer Glow Foundations at the NARS counter, the SA used this on me to take my foundation off. It felt so good on my skin. Since then, I had been leeming for this product.

MAC Style Warriors Haul & Quick Review

Hello all of you gorgeous peps! I got the chance to go to the MAC Counter today to *finally* check out Style Warriors in person. It's a pretty collection. I picked up a few things that I really liked, didn't get almost everything like I usually do-got to be frugal because my fiance and I are in the process of buying a house. My first impression of this collection: all about the packaging. And I must admit that I am a sucker for animal prints, so it was hard for me not to get almost every single thing. However, I tried to not judge the book by it's cover and look at the actual product itself. I know you have all probably seen all kinds of swatches of this collection on the internet. Let me just say this: I feel like almost all the eye shadows in this collection are almost exactly like other shadows in the permanent line. Soft Force e/s is identical to Nylon e/s. Night Manuevers e/s is very very close to Brun e/s. Vibrant Grape e/s is pretty, but I already had it, as well as Tempting e/s. I really thought I was going to pick up Bright Future e/s but when I saw it in person, it looked very similar to Bright Sunshine e/s, which I already had, and honestly, how many yellow eye shadows do you really need?

The Solar Bits are gorgeous if you like them. I know with a lot of people they either love them or hate them. I honestly like the way they look, even though you have to be careful when applying them because of the potential fall-out. I picked up Bronzescape-which is a shimmery golden bronze color.

The lip products were probably my favorite things from this collection. I picked up two of the four lipsticks. I got Purple Rite and Brave New Bronze. Both are very unique IMO. Purple Rite is described by MAC as "mid-tone frosty orchid." It comes off as a gorgeous pink-lavender on the lips instead of an in your face purple. MAC describes Brave New Bronze "creamy mid-tone pink nude." I love nude lip colors, so this is right up my alley. I got one lipglass in Fierce and Fabulous which is a pretty magenta-purple color.

Last but not least, I got one of the beauty powder blushes in On A Mission. I absolutely love bpb anyway, but to me this one was really unique. It is described as "pearly mid-tone plum." It's gorgeous and I can't wait to wear it!

So there it is, folks, my little haul. All in all, I think that this is a nice collection, definitely worth checking out.

MAC Starflash Haul/Thoughts on the Collection

I know I have already done some looks using some of these eyeshadows but I just love these and wanted to show you what I got in the MAC Starflash Collection. The shadows and the kohl powers in this collection are awesome. The shadows have a new, "Starflash" finish which is similar to the Veluxe Pearl finish. They are very smooth in texture. However, I believe there are similar colors to several of these shadows in the permanent collection, so I'll give you the low on those :). So this is what I got:

Eyeshadows (below, from left to right):

Sunset B.-Frosty clean midtone pink (Starflash). This pink looks a lot more pigmented in the pan than it actually is on your skin. You need to wear a base to really make this one pop like it should. I used UV Pink from the Kryolan Palette in the "Super Hot Pink Look." Fresco Rose PP would probably do well with this one also. I have read on other blogs that this pink is similar to Trophy Pink in the Royal Assets Cool Eyes Palette from the holiday 2007 collection.

Lotusland-Frosted pinky lavender with gold pearl (Starflash). This is a beautiful light lavender shade. I haven't worn it yet, but it doesn't seem to be very pigmented on it's own, so this is another one that will probably need a good base if you want it to pop. Maybe Nice Vice PP, Royal Hue Shadestick, or Pop Iris Liquidlast? I'll have to play with it and see. It's similar to Stars N Rockets but not as pink and it's also similar to Mancatcher from the Lure Collection but still different enough to get IMO.

Top Hat-Frosty dirty indigo (Starflash). This one is very similar to Fertile, which I also have. It's a little more bluish IMO and a helluva lot easier to apply. Unlike the previous, this one is VERY pigmented. It makes a lovely crease color.

Talent Pool-Frosty blue green with gold pearl (Starflash). This is a pretty teal color that is nicely pigmented. It kind of looked like Parrot in the pan but when I put it on it looked more like Steamy. I love teals though so I could never have enough!
Dreammaker-Frosty yellow gold (Starflash). This is going to be a nice lid or highlight color. I think if Gorgeous Gold and Ricepaper had a child, this is what it would look like, lol.

Go-Frosted bronze (Starflash). This is a gorgeous cool brown color that I can't wait to wear. I can't think of one it's really similar to, maybe Satin Taupe or Bronze?

Smoke & Diamonds-Frosty dirty taupe (Starflash). This is my favorite eyeshadow from this collection, hands down. The color is very unique; I can't think of anything close. It's a beautiful shimmery grayish brown color with just the right amount of pigmentation. It makes a nice allover eyecolor or crease color. Loves it!

Mink & Sable-Frosty olive green (Starflash). This one actually is very close to Sumptuous Olive, in fact I would have probably skipped this one if I knew how similar these two colors are. I think Mink & Sable will be smoother to apply though, judging but the smoothness of the other shadows in this collection.
Kohl Power Eye Pencils (below, from top to bottom):

Raven-Intense black with red pearl (Frost). This is gorgeous. I was looking for something like this, was contemplating buying the Foxy Lady Eye Kohl, and then this came out. Yay!

Feline-Rich black (Frost). This is the most intense black eye pencil I have ever purchased. Sexxy!

Mystery-Rich black with green and teal pearl (Frost). This one is going to be gorgeous as well, as much as I love teal and green eye makeup :).
*side note: the Kohl Power Eye Pencils do smudge, so be careful if you're going to be outside in the heat :)

MAC Electro Flash, Sonic Chic, & New View Haul/Review

So finally on to some newer hauls! With Electro Flash was the return of the mineralize eyeshadows like the ones from Antiquitease but oh so more pigmented! They are all really awesome. Sonic Chic is first time ever mineralized blushes for MAC, and I'm loving them so far. New View is a Mineralize Skinfinish duo, one half of the compact being MSF Natural and the other side a shimmery highlight color. If you already had MSF Natural you may or may not have purchased this. I didn't have it and wanted to try it so I got it, and with a bonus highlight shade on one side:). I have heard that some people are buying a darker shade in this and using it as a contour powder. At any rate, it's a great product to have. So without further adu, on to the haul!

Eyeshadows (Electro Flash)- I ended up getting seven of the nine eyeshadows. The only two I didn't pick up was Two to Glow and Play on Plums. I just didn't feel these colors would look very good with my coloring so I passed on these. I picked up one lipglass. The other colors just seemed kind of bland to me or like something I already had. Some lipsticks also came out with the collection but none of these really thrilled my soul either.

From left to right:

Sea & Sky-Silvery pale blue with deep blue and silver veining/Bright blue mono (Frost). This is most possibly my favorite eyeshadow out of this collection. As I have mentioned before, I love blues and this doesn't dissapoint. I wear this very frequently and even to work because my uniform is blue. This is a must-have from this collection!

Fresh Green Mix-Golden olive with blue, gold and acqua veining/Lime mono (Frost). This is a beautiful combo. Initially when I saw this online I was not planning to buy it, but when I went to the MAC counter I was floored at how absolutely gorgeous this duo was. This is also another must-have IMO.

Odd Couple-Warm gold with lavender and bronze veining/Purple mono (Frost). Another genious combination. The purple is beautiful and the gold side is a nice unexpected pair for it. They look great together.
Hot Contrast-(bottom pic)Dirty red with silver and black veining/Black mono (Frost). This is very pretty as well. The marbled side is awesome and the times I've used it I have played up the red side and paired with the black mono it is incredibly sexy.

Love Connection-Pale beige with gold and blue veining/Warm gold mono (Frost). This is a beautiful neutral combo. Very glittery, takes natural colors to a whole another level.

Polar Opposite-Dirty Purple with silver, indigo and pink veining/True silver mono (Frost). The silver side is super shiny and the purple is very pretty, can't wait to play with this one:).

Pink Split-Dirty rose with bronze and pale blue veining/Pink with gold pearl mono (Frost). This is probably the least pigmented one of the eyeshadows I got, but I have found the way to make it work is to wear it over fresco rose paint pot. It wears very nicely this way.

Lipglass:

Cultureclash-Frosty clear baby pink with multidimensional pearl. This is a pretty pink lipglass that I love.

Blushes (Sonic Chic):

Pleasantry- Intense mid tone blue pink with gold pearl. This color looks super bright in the pot but is so beautiful on. It gives me a nice healthy glow with some subtle shimmer. Probably my favorite mineralize blush.

Warm Soul-Mid tone beige with gold pearl. I really like this blush too. It kind of gives you a more subtle bronzey flush. It's great for the summer.

Love Thing-Dirty burgundy with gold pearl. I love this color but it's a little too intense for me. I make it work by using a VERY light hand. It's probably more suitable for darker skin tones.

Mineralize Skinfinish duo (New View):

Medium/Natural and Shimmer-Light peachy pink (Shimmer) / Soft creamy beige. I bought this in a shade to match my skin tone. I really like it, it gives good yet light coverage and I use the shimmer side to highlight above my cheeks on the bridge of my nose.

Cool Heat Haul/Review

And yet another haul I didn't post. Better late than never huh? :-p This collection really appealed to me because I'm really into blues and teals. I also have to wear blue a lot for work so this collection is perfect for me! I got all seven eyeshadows and two of the slimshines.

Eyeshadows I got (in two seperate pictures b/c it was too many to show the up close detail:) from left to right)-

Warming Trend-Frosty light taupe (veluxe pearl). This color actually shows up as a gold on me. Very pretty though and the texture is great.

Climate Blue-Mid-tone violet blue with pink pearl (velvet). This is a gorgeous color, blue with pink sparkles. The texure isn't the best, being a velvet but I make it work. This is a very unique color.

Blue Flame-Dirty metallic navy blue (veluxe pearl). This is similar to Deep Truth e/s from the permanent line. That's ok by me though because I love me some blues! I wear it in my crease a lot or even as liner.

Cool Heat-Frosty teal with multi-dimensional pearl (frost). This is a nice teal color. Some are saying that it is similar to Big T that came out with the C-Shock collection, but I missed that one so I couldn't tell you. I like this but it's a little hard to work with as well.Warm Chill-Frosty seafoam green with gold pearl (frost). This is a pretty pale green color that isn't very pigmented but it's so beautiful. I like to wear in on my inner lid and tear duct.

Gulf Stream-Frosty mid-tone blue green with green pearl (frost). This is one of my favorites from this collection. It is really unique and pigmented. Loves it.

Solar White-Frosty muted white gold (frost). Last but certainly not least. Another one of my favorites from this collection if not my favoritest. lol. It almost looks pink in the pot, but it goes on as this beautiful light gold color. It's great for anything-hightlight, on the lid, tear duct, it's so versatile. I absolutely love it.The slimshines I got from left to right:

Tropic Glow-Blue pink with silver pearl (frost). In the tube this looks outrageously barbie pink. But it goes on so wearable. It's still fairly bright but sheer and super shiny. It's actually very lovely.

Gentle Simmer-Light clean yellow pink with white pearl (frost). Another fabulous pink. It's a more lighter, subtle pink. I wear this one a lot.

Neo Sci-fi Haul/Review

Hey ya'll I know this is really late but I have really fell off the bandwagon with this blog. I am trying to catch up :). So this is my Mac Neo-Sci-Fi Haul!

I got three of the eyeshadows. I already had expensive pink from the permanent collection and Time & Space just didn't tickle my fancy...it looked a lot like woodwinked and that color looked HORRIBLE on me for some reason. So I ended up getting (from left to right)-

Femme-Fi: Frosty golden cream (veluxe pearl). This is an excellent highlight color

Evening Aura: Frosty golden peach (veluxe pearl). Absolutely beautiful peachy-orange.

Magnetic Fields: Black brown with silver pearlized pigments (veluxe pearl). I've used this as a crease color a lot and it is gorgeous!

I got one of the solar bits. It was so pretty but kind of hard to work with and it was hard to prevent fallout :(. They are a lot chunkier than pigments. So the one I got was:

Black Ore: rich black with gold reflects

I got one of the two blushes. Both of them looked gorgeous, but I ended up with:

Space Out: Shimmery peach (sheertone shimmer). I thought it would look best with my skintone. It is very pretty and natural looking.

I got two of the lipsticks that are very pretty:

Sunsonic: White gold (frost)

Pleasureseeker: Creamy peach (glaze). This is my favorite of the two. I have worn it a lot and it gives me a nice glow:)

And last but definitely not least...the lipglasses! Sorry about the blurry pic. I purchased three of them out of the four. I didn't get Supreme because brown is just not an appealing color for me to wear on my lips. I did get (from left to right):

Naked Space: Creamy midtone nude peach. This color is great to tone down a lip color or in my case I usually wear it alone to complement a smokey eye.

Soft & Slow: Midtone creamy plum. This is a darker lipglass, it's a very sexy color.

Pink Grapefruit: Orange with gold pearlized pigments. This is a very unique shade that I actually just recently got from ebay. It was sold out on the Mac site by the time I decided to get it so luckily I found it on ebay :).

So there it is. All in all I really liked this collection. The neon orange packaging was fun...I definitely can't miss these when I'm looking for them. The colors are all pretty neutral which is great because they will appeal to a wide range of people. The only thing I wish was that the solar bits would have been a little less chunky and easier to work with because honestly they are beautiful colors but really hard to blend and prevent fallout. So once again sorry that this is soo late, I know there have been several collections out after this one and I'll try to give you some info on those as well. Have a great day!!!

Naughty Nauticals Haul

What I got from the new MAC collection Naughty Nauticals! I absolutely love these! There will definitely be some FOTD's to come!

Eye shadow from left to right:

Illegal Cargo-Mid-tone frosty greyed plum(Frost). This is an absolutely gorgeous color kinda similar to Shale, but much more blendable in my opinion. Even if you're purple shy I would definitely recommend this color.

Submarine-Mid-tone frosty clear blue(Frost). This color is really pretty, it's similar to freshwater, in fact they could be sisters. :p

Shore Leave-Pale frosty cream(Veluxe Pearl). This is a nice highlight color.

Meet the Fleet-Matte midnight blue. This one is a nice liner or crease color. I wore it one day on my lid and covered it with Mutiny pigment and the result was gorgeous. The only bad thing about this one is that it's kind of hard to work with, being a matte texture.

I didn't get Pandamonium because I have Charred which looks sorta similar. Plus, I'm not a big fan of the lustre finish.

Pigments from left to right:

Mutiny-clean sky blue with gold pearl. This is oh so pretty.

Bell-Bottom Blue-frosty dirty blue with white pearl. Ditto.

Lark About-sheer frosty white blue. A lot of people don't like this one but I think it's a nice color. I like that iridescent blue sheen it has and it would work great as a highlight with the other blues in this collection.

I passed on Lovely Lily because it just wasn't that unique to me and I have a lot of purples in my collection so...

This is the Smoothblue technakohl eyeliner that's actually from the permanent collection, but I didn't have it so I got it. It's described as "ocean blue with frost." It compliments this collection really well.

Lipsticks from left to right:

Ahoy, there!-sheer light dirty pink with multi-dimensional pearl(Glaze).

Port Red-clean yellow red with gold pearl(Frost). This color is hott. I can't wait to rock this one.

Party Mate-sheer mid-tone pink(Lustre). This one is beautiful as well.

Sorry this one is kinda blurry. Two of the lipglassed from left to right:

Love Knot-sheer pink with blue & white duochrome. This color is hott too. I've already worn it several times!

Hey, Sailor-blue plum pink with white pearl flecks. This is an awesome color as well. It kind of reminds me of the Viva Glam VI lipglass.
